Djelic said at the occasion that the donation of €250,000 will make it possible for Serbia and its social inclusion and poverty reduction team to work on projects which will help stop social gaps from widening further during the current crisis.
He said that Switzerland is one of the major donors to Serbia and assists with €10 million annually for implementing major reform projects.
We have reached a joint decision with Swiss government representatives to distribute funds of €35 million during the period from 2010 to 2013, in three different areas, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He said that the funds will be spent on social inclusion, support for disadvantaged groups and sustainable development and energy efficiency projects.
Djelic said that Switzerland has decided to invest €10 million in energy efficiency over the next four years, which will improve environmental conditions in Serbia.
The signing of the statement was also attended by the Swiss Ambassador to Serbia Erwin Hofer.
