According to the statement the agreement will encourage cooperation in cultural matters in order to bring the people of the two countries closer together and to develop creative potential.
Cooperation will focus on direct contacts between artists and culture sector employees and support for the artists from the two countries participating in international competitions, festivals, conferences and seminars.
The cooperation programme also concerns publishing. It will encourage the translation of Serbian contemporary literature into Ukrainian and the participation of delegations from the two countries at book fairs.
Prior to the signing of the programme, Bradic and Vovkun met and jointly stressed the importance of culture as a key factor in the process of integration and intercultural dialogue.
Bradic recalled the success of the event Ukrainian Culture Days, held in Serbia during 2007.
The two ministers agreed that it is necessary to encourage institutional cooperation at state level between the two countries.
