Josep Lloveras and Milica Delevic
At a press conference held at the government building, Delevic recalled that the twinning project “Capacity Building of Public Administration in EU Integration Process” is an EU instrument for strengthening the state administrations of countries wishing to join the EU.
She explained that the aims of the projects are to help non-EU member states to exchange experiences with countries which have already joined the EU and to synchronise their laws with EU legislation.
Head of the European Commission Delegation to Serbia Josep Lloveras pointed out that the twinning project is the longest, most complicated and the most successful project of its type ever implemented in Serbia, specifying that 50 French and Slovene experts participated.
Lloveras said that the national programme of European integration should be a catalyst that will inject energy and mobilise the consensus for the EU integration process.
Project manager for Slovenia Andrej Engelman said that the Serbian administration and all other structures are now ready to complete the negotiating process for EU integration.
Although administrative capacities were already good, a lot of progress has been made and Serbia is now well prepared for the next steps towards European integration, said Engelman.
