Dacic, who
is attending the 8th Conference on Interior and Corporate Safety in Athens, said in a statement to Tanjug news agency that it is very important for Serbia that the Kosovo issue is removed from the political arena to the domain of law.
He said that it is important for Serbia that the International Court of Justice gives its opinion on the legitimacy of Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence as soon as possible.
He stressed that Greek support in this regard is extremely valuable for Serbia, adding that Greece supports Serbia’s EU integration and in the bilateral talks held in Athens it was stressed that improved cooperation on political, economic and security matters between the two countries is needed.
According to him, Greece will vote for Serbia’s inclusion in the Schengen ‘white list’, which implies that relations between the two countries are at a high level.
Dacic also met with Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, Interior Minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos and President Giorgos Papandreou.
Minister announced that Pavlopoulos may visit Serbia this year in order to discuss police and border cooperation and the setting up of a regional centre for emergency situations.
The Minister recalled that Serbia and Greece are soon to discuss protocols on readmission and mutual recognition of driving licences.
