According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Culture, Bradic said that major progress in communication would be made if Serbia becomes a part of Europe.
The Minister invited Neumann to attend a ceremony which will be held to mark the 60th anniversary of the Serbian national film library, the Yugoslav Film Archive, and suggested that Germany should be the guest of honour at the 2011Belgrade book fair.
Bradic said that that could be an opportunity for the two countries to sign the long awaited agreement on cultural cooperation.
The importance of cooperation in the areas of cultural heritage, museology, film archiving and production was stressed at the meeting and it was stated that some projects have been planned in this respect.
Neumann said that the Leipzig book fair, at which Serbia will be the guest of honour in 2011, is an excellent opportunity for intensifying cooperation between Serbia and Germany in all cultural spheres.
He said that cultural relations between Germany and Serbia today are very good but there is always scope for improvement, adding that for Germany, Serbia as a central country in the West Balkans has priority when it comes to expanding cultural relations.
The Serbian delegation will attend the opening of the Leipzig book fair this evening and Bradic will talk on the occasion with representatives of the fair regarding Serbia’s appearance as the guest of honour at the event in 2011.
