Serbian Deputy Prime for EU integration and Minister of Science and Technology Bozidar Djelic today presented the Aurea Innovation of the Year award to the company ICM Electronics from Platicevo for their production of industrial robots.

The initiative for this award was launched by the business and investment portal E-Kapija, with the aim to promote good investment projects which are valuable to society and sustainable growth.
A special recognition for social usefulness was given to Kuce Beodom for making and selling low-energy apartments. The special recognition for innovative investments went to the Milinkovic Company for building facilities with prefabricated ferrocement materials.
Djelic stressed that the government should encourage good and innovative entrepreneurs to export their products as much as possible.
He noted that Serbia’s exports in 2008 was at the highest level compared to the previous eight years, but this year they will decrease due to the global financial crisis.
The Minister said that Serbia will primarily export apples, sugar and metals in 2009.
The companies Delta Agrar and Metalac from Gornji Milanovac received Aurea Awards as well.
