In an interview with the Tanjug news agency, Sutanovac recalled that the Serbian Army and KFOR cooperate well, adding that there is always the possibility that an accident occurs, particularly on the other side of the administrative line, but it has not happened yet.
He said that three Serbian Army brigades monitor the situation, providing peace and stability in the entire region
These three brigades and the Serbian Gendarmerie work efficiently and are able to provide stability in southern Serbia, stressed the Minister.
Sutanovac explained that the Serbian Army technically cooperates with KFOR and the two sides have regular meetings at lower command level, as well as their own patrols in the ground safety zone.
The Serbian government does not have the right to terminate this cooperation, which was established for the benefit of the Serbian Army and the people living in the region as well as for maintaining security in Kosovo, explained the Defence Minister.
He said that he hopes that the Cepotin military base, which is five kilometres from Bujanovac, will be built soon, stressing that this facility will be very important for the security of the whole of southern Serbia.
He said that it will clearly show that Serbia is determined to maintain a maximum presence in that part of the country.
Speaking about the Serbian arms industry he said that he is convinced that if the industry is managed efficiently it will have a good future and will deal with problems successfully.
The Defence Minister said that last year almost all manufacturers doubled production and export, however the companies are still losing money because of problems from the past.
Sutanovac said that it is good that manufacturers are still producing quality products at competitive prices and that there are interested foreign buyers but the products must be modernized.
