According to the statement, Serbia and Turkey will organize mutual participation in theatre and music festivals as well as other cultural events.
According to the protocol Serbia and Turkey will exchange artists, producers, arrange art workshops and develop cooperation for exchanging publications.
The two countries will also invite each other to participate at international book fairs being organized in either country.
Prior to the signing of the protocol the two ministers held a meeting to discuss some of the most important issues related to the areas of cultural cooperation, cultural heritage preservation and cultural exchange.
Bradic, who is visiting Turkey from February 18 to 22, stressed the importance of preserving cultural heritage in Serbia dating back to the Ottoman period and informed the Turkish Culture Minister about the European Heritage Days to be held in Prijepolje in September, which will include a special presentation about Islamic architecture.
Serbia’s participation in the event “Istanbul 2010 – Cultural Capital” was also discussed. Bradic and Günay will this evening attend the opening night of a stage play based on the book Death and the Dervish by Mesa Salimovic.
