Matic said that the Ministry will organise a series of round-table debates, seminars and conferences with the aim of educating parents and teachers about internet threats.
According to Matic, the Ministry’s campaign will gather representatives of the state, international organisations, civil society and the private sector in order to deal with this problem.
The Minister said the main problem is the fact that children often leave their personal data or photos on the internet, which could be abused, adding that parents must have control over their children in this respect.
The Minister pointed out that 90 % of children from EU member states use the internet every day, one third of who have already been abused in some way.
Czech Ambassador to Serbia Hana Hubackova said that during the Czech EU presidency, children’s internet protection will be one of priorities.
PR Director at Microsoft Serbia Milos Trkulja said that Microsoft offers in its software packages the so-called family control, which allows parents to control their children when accessing the internet.
Promoter of the campaign, musician Momcilo Bajagic-Bajaga, said that apart from the good things, the internet can be also dangerous, which is why he as a parent of two joined the action.
