Director of the Tax Administration Dragutin Radosavljevic said that tax payers who get the electronic signature will be able to submit their tax reports via the internet.
This will improve the quality of service and speed up the work of the Tax Administration, he said, noting that this institution is the first in the state system to apply the e-signature.
Radosavljevic said that the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government is leading the project.
Head of the public postal company PTT Srbija Goran Ciric recalled that this company has been the first to acquire the licence for the issuance of e-signatures.
He said that PTT, together with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, is working on an important law concerning e-documents.
Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic said that procedures are the biggest problem and voiced his belief that e-government will soon become the best way of communication between state authorities and citizens.
Following the signing of the protocol on cooperation, a PTT representative sent a tax report through digital means.
