The protocol, signed in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and chair of the organising committee Bozidar Djelic, also envisages telecommunication works in the university village worth several million euros.
At a press conference following the signing Djelic said that Universiade will be the largest sports event in the world this year, as well as the largest global event ever organised in Serbia.

He specified that participants will compete in 15 sports and 203 disciplines, taking place in 50 sport facilities.
Speaking about the sponsorship contract with Telekom, Djelic said that funds amounting to around RSD 20 million will facilitate the organisation of the Universiade, adding that Telekom will also help with installing optical and other telecommunications equipment worth several million euros for the needs of the event.
Djelic said that Universiade 2009 will announce a tender for public procurements, worth RSD 2.5 billion, RSD 1.6 billion of which will concern goods and RSD 260 million services.
