NIN award goes to Vladimir Pistalo

Serbian author Vladimir Pistalo has been declared this year’s winner of the NIN award for his novel "Tesla, A Portrait Amongst Masks".

Apart from this book, short listed novels for the NIN award are also "Hamam Balkanija" by Vladislav Bajac, “My Last Headache" by Laura Barna, "The Invisible" by Aleksandar Gatalica, "The Cannon was Hot" by Vladimir Kecmanovic, "A Perfect Memory of Death" by Radoslav Petkovic and "Marta Koen’s Diary" by Svetislav Basara.
Vladimir Pistalo (born 1960), one of the most important Serbian contemporary narrators, teaches American and world history at Worcester University in Massachusetts.
The NIN award was first presented in 1954 and this year’s laureate will be presented with it on January 30 in Belgrade.
