Thus one of the conditions has been created for the government to take advantage of computer technologies and introduce e-sessions.
The project is worth RSD 27 million and the deadline for its implementation, which will be carried out by ComTrade and Telekom Srbija, is June 12, 2009.
Matic told a press conference that the project implies the introduction of electronic government sessions, full automation and the shift to electronic procedures in the government’s Secretariat General.
She voiced her hope that by May next year the government will no longer use printed material, but only e-documents.
She said the Ministry for Telecommunications and Information Society wants to introduce electronic administration and make a step forward when it comes to using new technologies and introducing the information society in Serbia, both at the local and state levels.
She announced that on December 29, the Ministry will start carrying out a survey in local self-governments, municipalities and towns throughout Serbia, on whose results an action plan for the increase of capacities at local level will be based.
The Minister pointed to the importance of information technologies and e-administration for the reduction of spending, the increase of efficiency and the prevention of corruption.
Jevrosimovic said that both the state administration and citizens will benefit from the development of e-services.
Investing in information technologies is the best way to make Serbian economy competitive in the world’s most developed countries and ready to overcome the global financial crisis, especially in these hard times, said Jevrosimovic.
He pointed out that this system will enable more efficient work of parliament and the Secretariat General, which will be able to provide relevant information concerning parliament sessions to all state bodies.
