Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Tadashi Nagai and directors of health centres in Ljubovija, Uzice and Sjenica, Snezana Petrovic, Darko Marinkovic, Stevica Tripkovic and the director of the Ozren pulmonary hospital in Sokobanja, Miroslav Jevtic, today signed an agreement concerning the Japanese government’s donation worth €169,596.

The donation for the improvement of the health system in Serbia includes ambulances, ultrasound, ECG and other equipment.
At a press conference following the signing of the agreement, Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic said that the donation comprises equipment for emergency situations.
On behalf of the Serbian government and the Serbian people, Milosavljevic thanked the Japanese government for the assistance, adding that the donation had been distributed amongst smaller towns.
Nagai pointed out that the Japanese government intends to help improve emergency medical services and diagnostics, adding that Japan has donated approximately €200 million to Serbia so far, €17 million of which was allocated to the health system.
