Milosavljevic told a press conference that the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and protection from competition are twin pillars of Serbian trade strategy.
He stated that all sales outlets will have to issue receipts, except for the public sector and market.
Milosavljevic added that a 24-hour telephone line has been opened for reporting irregularities in the work of market inspectors.
He recalled that the bills on e-commerce and product safety have been adopted, while the draft law on protection of competition has been completed.
Also, the laws on protection of consumers and the law on commerce are being prepared, he stated.
He also expressed hope that the Serbian economy will maintain growth in the upcoming years, adding that so far Serbia is doing well in its efforts to alleviate the effects of the global economic crisis.
We need to cut public expenditure, count more on domestic sources and preserve foreign currency reserves, which are the strongest guarantee of macroeconomic stability and total financial stability of the country, said Milosavljevic.
