At the press conference on the first 100 days of the government, Ugljanin said that an inter-sector team will manage the projects, which will be financed from the budget.
According to him, it is a new and very important issue with which none of the previous governments was concerned, and for whose realisation the cooperation of several ministries is necessary.
Ugljanin stressed that the Ministry has been working in four important fields during the previous 100 days.
One group has dealt with the work of the Office, namely job classification, drafting a budget proposal and finding office space, while the other one has studied the existing national strategies and collected official information on underdevelopment and poverty indicators, explained Ugljanin.
According to him, the third important issue was drafting the programme for sustainable development and creating a hospitable environment for foreign investments, while the fourth group collected field information concerning definitions of poverty.
The Ministry aims to draft a plan and a programme in the following two months, set priorities for 46 municipalities and finance one important project or programme in each of them, aimed at fighting poverty, said Ugljanin.
He expressed expectations that the government will secure adequate funds allowing each municipality to implement at least one project in the following four years.
The Office of Sustainable Development was formed according to the Serbian government Decree adopted on July 26.
