Serbia nominated as guest of honour at Leipzig book fair 2011

Serbian Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic talked today with fair director Oliver Zille and fair project manager Anya Walter about Serbia’s nomination as guest of honour at the Leipzig book fair in 2011.
According to a statement issued by the Culture Ministry, it was emphasized in the talks that receiving the title ”Guest of Honour” at the prestigious event will be a great opportunity for Serbia to promote its culture.
Teams will be formed to prepare plans for Serbia’s participation in the Leipzig fair by the time the Vienna book fair starts on November 20.
Serbia’s nomination will be officially announced during the Vienna book fair.
The meeting at the Culture Ministry was also attended by State Secretary Nadica Momirov, special advisor to the Culture Minister Zoran Hamovic, Serbian Ambassador to Austria Dragan Velikic and advisor at the Culture Ministry Mladen Veskovic.
In a visit organised by the Culture Ministry, the Leipzig fair director also met with representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Goethe Institute, and the Serbian PEN Centre and talked with city secretary for culture Ivan Avzner and director of the Belgrade fair Andjelko Trpkovic.
