The three-day conference, at which participants will be representatives of ministries of education, culture, labour and social policy, Serbian universities, associations of persons with disabilities and cultural institutions, is part of a project by the British Council that aims to include disabled persons in the work and programmes of public institutions in Serbia.
Opening the conference in Sava Centre, Bradic said that care for persons with disabilities is a social responsibility and as minister of culture he will work intensively on the issue.
He recalled that the Belgrade Drama Theatre was one of the first cultural institutions which made its building disabled-friendly, and announced that other cultural facilities, especially those that are being repaired, will also provide the same services.
Wordsworth pointed out that the UK is proud of achievements in the development of an inclusive society so far and added that this conference is another opportunity for exchange of experience with Serbia in this area.
During the next three days, participants will try, through open dialogue, to offer creative solutions for problems in the development of an inclusive society in Serbia.
