Speaking in an interview for the international radio Srbija, Bogdanovic said that the new proposed resolution takes into account all objections and recommendations made by caucuses, adding that he is convinced that all caucuses will be ready to treat the document as an expression of their common will.
All that they insisted on, primarily the opposition parties, has been included in the resolution – safeguarding the continuity of state policy towards Kosovo, confirmation of the annulment of all legal acts by the so called state of Kosovo, confirmation of the stance that any international civilian presence in the province must be approved by the Security Council, and the obligation of all state organs to carry on strengthening Kosovo Serbs economically, said the Minister.
According to him, the document also incorporates the obligation to provide assistance for the return of refugees and IDPs, create conditions for their sustainable return and life in the province and take steps to investigate war crimes and organised crime whose victims were Serbs and other non-ethnic Albanians.
We will see to what degree the resolution is acceptable to the opposition, though I believe that all parliamentary parties are willing to reach a compromise and make this document the expression of their common will, or at least the will of the majority of caucuses, stressed Bogdanovic.
The Serbian government is principled and resolved to continue the policy towards Kosovo-Metohija, that is, its fight for the preservation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, primarily through the UN Security Council, reiterated the Minister and added that Kosovo is a priority for Serbia alongside EU accession.
He explained that this document cannot solve everyday problems of Kosovo Serbs, but it shows that the state cares for them and that it will continue the struggle for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity with all legal, political and diplomatic means.
