According to the statement issued by the Culture Ministry, the conference which is part of the programme “Cultural Heritage – a Bridge towards a Shared Future” is the main event in this regional initiative and is held every year.
The conference is an opportunity for ministers or state secretaries to meet and for bilateral and multilateral talks to be held, as well as establishment of better relations with the UNESCO office in Venice.
The UNESCO office in Venice has organised reconstruction and restoration of Serbian cultural heritage sites in Kosovo-Metohija, which is being financed by foreign donations and due to this reason talks with its representatives are extremely important for the Serbian delegation.
The Serbian delegation is travelling to Bucharest at the invitation of UNESCO and Romanian Minister of Culture and Religious Affairs Adrian Iorgulescu, and will stay in Bucharest from September 19 to 21.
Member countries of the regional initiative for cultural heritage in South-Eastern Europe are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldavia, Romania, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia, concludes the statement.
