Serbian teams Red Star and Vojvodina failed to secure a place in the first round of the UEFA Cup.

Red Star failed to qualify for the UEFA Cup after two matches with Cypriot Apoel. The return game in Belgrade ended with 3:3, and the result of the first match in Nicosia was 2:2, however the Cypriot team eliminated Red Star on the away goals rule.
Vojvodina from Novi Sad lost a return game in the UEFA CUP second qualifying round to Hapoel from Tel Aviv 3:0.
