Speaking at a press conference, Krkobabic said that the latest pension increase will not affect other beneficiaries of budgetary funds.
He said that there will be a regular increase of 7% as well as the non-regular increase, so that September pensions will be up by 17%.
According to Krkobabic, the latest increase will raise the level of pensions to 59% of the average salary in Serbia, which is according to the earlier established minimum legal level of 60%.
The first adjustment of pensions will come into effect in the first half of 2009, and by the end of the next year the average pension will be nearly 70% of the average salary, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Krkobabic said that the government today made a decision on redistribution of funds, according to which a sum of RSD 3.1 billion will be set aside for construction on the Belgrade ring road instead of the earlier sum of RSD 2.7 billion.
He explained that this decision was made because completing the ring road to decrease the load on the Gazela Bridge is urgent. He added that this is why more funds have been allocated from the National Investment Plan.
The government has entrusted the Serbian property directorate with the preparation of a precise report on the status of all official residences and offices, and all official residences which were used by former ministers and other state functionaries have been returned, said Krkobabic.
According to Krkobabic, the government did not discuss the Hogros-Pozega highway concession contract at its session today.
