In an interview to the Tanjug news agency, Milosavljevic said that conditions should be created for Serbian products to be sold wherever possible. Also, unimpeded trade with Kosovo-Metohija should be enabled, since it is in the interest of both Serbia and the province not to cede that market to foreign producers.
Apart from increasing trade with CEFTA member states and Russia, Milosavljevic said that economic diplomacy will be activated with the countries of northern Africa, South and Central America, and Persian Gulf countries, such as Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
This ministry also prepared a trade development strategy which will be presented to the public within the next two weeks. This will be followed by a public discussion and it is expected that the strategy might be adopted at a government session in the first half of September.
After that, the law on trade will be adopted and by the end of the year, amendments to the Law on protection of competition will be included in this set of laws, Milosavljevic concluded.
