Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic visited today the oncology and radiology institute at the Clinical Centre of Serbia which is now equipped with a new linear accelerator and scanner with the help of which it is possible to carry out various types of radiotherapy procedures.

Milosavljevic said at a press conference that it will be possible to fight against cancer in Serbia if the number of smokers is reduced, physical activities are increased and eating habits and prevention awareness is improved.
Director of the oncology and radiology institute Nenad Borojevic said that the linear accelerator costs RSD 195 million and the scanner RSD 54 million, and the equipment has been bought with the Health Ministry’s budgetary funds.
Borojevic said that this is the third linear accelerator in the institute and announced that one more will be acquired within a month.
