According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture, Bradic and Japanese Ambassador Tadashi Nagai jointly stated yesterday that cultural cooperation between the two countries is extremely successful, keeping in view Japanese donations in the form of professional equipment for the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Belgrade National Theatre, the Serbian National Theatre, and the Yugoslav Film Archive.
Bradic and Nagai agreed that successful cooperation should be developed further. Japan will be a guest country at the Belgrade book fair this year. One more meeting will be held at the end of August in order to determine details of Japan’s participation in the book fair, and about the handing over of equipment donated by Japan to the Belgrade National Theatre.
During yesterday’s separate meeting with Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia Georgi Dimitrov, Bradic talked about the priorities of the Ministry of Culture.
The Bulgarian Ambassador said that cultural exchange between the two countries has been improved during the recent period but the two governments should play a more active role.
Dimitrov recommended the signing of a special agreement on cultural cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria.
Dimitrov also recalled Bulgaria’s initiative to reciprocally open cultural centres in Sofia and Belgrade, concludes the statement.
