Klasnja said at a press conference that after the evaluation of projects, contracts will be signed with organisations that meet the requirements on August 12, International Youth Day.
The competition for financing projects for implementation of goals laid out in the National youth strategy was open until June 13.
The projects will be financed this year with amounts ranging from RSD 600,000 to RSD 3 million, Klasnja said and added that last year the minimum amount was RSD 400,000. Projects of regional importance were received up to RSD 2 million, and of national importance up to RSD 4 million.
According to Klasnja, projects which include young people, particularly from a rural background will be given preference during project evaluation.
Klasnja explained that projects should cover the 11 aims defined by the National Youth Strategy, including social actions, building information infrastructure, security for young people, recreational activities and employment.
She said that last year 319 projects were submitted to the competition, of which 60 met all conditions, and added that a sum of RSD 68 million has been allocated for the ongoing implementation of these projects.
The projects proposed last year mainly concerned informal education, organisation of or participation in international and domestic gatherings, encouraging young people to be active and take part in voluntary activities, said Klasnja.
She said that the Mlada Srbija citizens association cooperate with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in project evaluation.
