Matic said that three regional agencies, two non-profit organisations and 12 local trainers also completed the programme.
The participants received the title of specialist in investment promotion at local level, she said noting that the most successful participants were from Soko Banja and Novi Becej, Marija Zikic and Svetlana Glavaski, as well as Ivan Vukadinovic from the Regional Agency for the Development of Sumadija and Pomoravlje.
The training programme for local self-government organs in Serbia began early this year as part of a wider investment promotion programme financed by the EU through the European Agency for Reconstruction, and implemented by FIAS – the World Bank’s Foreign Investment Advisory Service. The regional training programme was implemented together with the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SKGO).
Local specialists for the training program were experts from SIEPA, Vojvodina Investment Fund (VIP Fund), Agency for investment promotion and support to business in central Serbia, SKGO, USAID's MEGA programme and NGO Partnership for Development (PfD).
Apart from FIAS, SIEPA and SKGO, also participants of the programme were Czech consultancy Berman Group and Serbia’s PfD.
