The payment will be made in four installments through Novi Sad-based Vojvodjanska Banka, Dinkic told a press conference today.
The first installment totals €530, said Dinkic, noting that citizens will receive €1,060 in 2005 and €5,000 in 2006. The rest of the debts will be settled in 2007, he added.
A total of 8,389 citizens claimed aggregate receivables of around €35.9 million by the June 29, 2004 deadline, the Minister went on to say, adding that the state received no claims for the remaining €20 million.
According to him, the Ministry has yet to decide on how to handle €4 million in 1,052 claims which it received after the deadline expired.
Dinkic also said that Societe Generale, OTP and Alpha Bank have submitted bids in a tender for the sale of Jubanka, noting that the new owner will be named by the end of the year. Novosadska Banka and Kontinental Banka will be put up for sale in September, he added.
