Ivanovic, Zimonjic in French Open final

The 2007 French Open runner-up Ana Ivanovic defeated fellow Serbian Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in Thursday's semi-final to reach the French Open final in the women's singles.

The second seed Ivanovic will face 13th seeded Dinara Safina in the final match. The Russian tennis player reached her first Grand Slam final with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over fourth seeded compatriot Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Ivanovic's victory over the third-seeded Jankovic means she is guaranteed to be the new world number one when the latest WTA rankings are released on Monday.

Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic and Canadian Daniel Nestor advanced to the men's doubles final after win over Russians Dmitry Tursunov and Igor Kunitsyn - 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Zimonjic, partnering Slovenia's Katarina Srebotnik, was scheduled to play the semi-final in the mixed doubles against Mahesh Bhupathi of India and Jie Zheng of China, but Bhupathi ruled out through injury.
