At a press conference, Dragin said that there are between 500 and 1,000 illegal facilities in protected natural resources in Serbia.
According to him, the book lists the type and size of illegally built facilities in national parks such as holiday homes, bungalows, camps and trailers, and even hotels.
He said that the Ministry is trying to prevent illegal construction in nature reserves; however, other state organs have failed to show willingness to solve this problem because they claimed they do not have enough information on the matter.
This is why the Ministry compiled the “white book” of illegally constructed facilities with data on their location, addresses, phone numbers and similar, which should help remove these facilities, noted Dragin.
The "white book" says that there are five national parks in Serbia – Fruska Gora, Djerdap, Tara, Kopaonik and Sar Planina.
Illegal construction of facilities which jeopardise natural and cultural landmarks is a burning problem in managing national parks.
