Ivanovic, Jankovic, Djokovic reach French Open semifinals

Serbian tennis players Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic will meet Thursday in the French Open semifinals after both women posted quarterfinal victories.

The second-seeded Ivanovic beat No. 10 Patty Schnyder 6-3, 6-2, while the third-seeded Jankovic downed Spanish qualifier Carla Suarez Navarro 6-3, 6-2.

Serbian Novak Djokovic, the Australian Open champion and the No. 3 seed in Paris, beat Ernests Gulbis of Latvia, 7-5, 7-6, 7-5, to reach semifinals in the men's singles competition.

His opponent in the semifinals will be defending champion Rafael Nadal of Spain.

In the quarterfinals of the French Open men's doubles, Serbia's Nenad Zimonjić, paired with Canadian Daniel Nestor, beat Belgians Steve Darcis and Olivier Rochus 6-1, 6-4.

Also, Dusan Vemic of Serbia and Brazilian Bruno Soares beat Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe and his Swedish partner Jonas Bjorkman, 7-5, 6-3, to reach semifinals in the men's doubles.
