According to votes of the audience and the jury, representatives of ten countries which will compete in the final on May 24 are Greece, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Finland, Russia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Poland and Norway.
They will perform in the final together with another ten finalists to be elected on May 22 and representatives of five more countries, namely, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain and Serbia, who go straight to the final.
The first semi final was opened by children’s choir Kolibri with a song dedicated to Belgrade, followed by a performance by two brass bands in white suits and the ensemble Kolo, whose members were dressed in red and blue costumes.
The hosts were famous Serbian singer and composer Zeljko Joksimovic and RTS host Jovana Jankovic. After the performances, voting was officially opened by Serbia’s best tennis player Novak Djokovic.
A total of 2,500 accredited press members from 43 participating countries, as well as the US and Australia, reported on the first semi final at the Belgrade Arena.
