Viewers from Serbia will be able to vote only in the second semi-final and final, according to new regulations.
Participants in the first semi-final are Montenegro, Israel, Estonia, Moldova, San Marino, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Norway, Poland, Ireland, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, the Netherlands, Finland, Romania, Russia and Greece.
The theme of the first semi-final is the city and spectators will have an opportunity to get acquainted with Belgrade, its people and life in it.
The introductory part is titled “Video Killed the Radio Star” and is dedicated to the beginnings of television and Eurovision. Serbian trumpet players and singers, accompanied by the Serbian national folk dance ensemble Kolo, will perform some of the biggest Eurovision hits.
Slobodan Trkulja and the band Balkanopolis will perform in the non-competitive category.
Serbia’s best tennis player and world number three Novak Djokovic will announce the beginning of voting at the first semi-final this evening.
The second semi-final is scheduled to take place on May 22, when Iceland, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Lithuania, Albania, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Latvia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Georgia, Hungary, Malta, Cyprus, Macedonia and Portugal will participate.
In the final which is being held on May 24, the 20 best semi-finalists will also compete with Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain and host Serbia.
