Mladjan Dinkic
Serbia’s budget deficit fell from 7.8 billion dinars in May to 2.1 billion dinars in July, Dinkic told a press conference today, stressing that the country will see a budget surplus this month.
In the first seven months of the year, budget revenue stood at 179.1 billion dinars, with spending reaching 198.4 billion dinars, the Minister said, adding that a more efficient tax collection has paved the way for a 20.5 percent increase in January-July budget revenue.
The government will revise the spending plan in October this year to reduce the projected annual budget gap from 45 billion dinars to 30 billion dinars, Dinkic went on to say, noting that Serbia will also achieve macroeconomic stability by the end of the year.
The government and the central bank will take measures to curb inflation in the last quarter of the year, spare 13 billion dinars in the budget and keep the deficit at four-year low of below 2.5% of GDP, he said.
