Serbian Minister of Culture and Chief of Political Department of the European Commission's delegation to Serbia Esmeralda Hernandez-Aragones opened last night the Cultural Contact Point, an office that will help all stakeholders participate in the EU’s “Culture 2007-2013” programme.
Serbia became member of this programme on February 6, when Brajovic signed in Brussels on February 6.
The Culture Programme was established with the aim is to strengthen cultural identity, promote cultural cooperation between European countries, encourage the transnational circulation of cultural and artistic works and foster intercultural dialogue.
Brajovic said that Serbia would actively participate and work with others to contribute to the better standard of culture in Europe.
Brajovic thanked the European Commission representatives on support and their attendance.
Aragones said she is pleased to attend such a successful event which is part of "Culture 2007-2013".
She said that this programme is worth €400 million and is fully open to Serbia and other Western Balkan countries.
Assistant Minister of Culture Branislav Dimitrijevic said that the opening of Culture Contact Point is an important symbolic act and noted that all those with ideas and projects of international character can come to this office.
