Naumov told a press conference that religious education is equally important and that the Ministry of Education wants to incorporate secondary religious schools in the public system of education and provide conditions for students to enroll at universities.
The Ministry of Religion will assist religious schools with RSD 150 million, he said.
The funds will be distributed to ten schools, including religious schools in Subotica, Belgrade, Sremski Karlovci, Kragujevac, Nis, Cetinje, Foca, Krka monastery as well as Islamic schools in Belgrade and Novi Pazar, he noted.
According to the Minister, RSD 52 million will be used to provide 800 scholarships for students of the Belgrade Orthodox Theological Faculty, Academy of the Serbian Orthodox Church for Art and Conservation, Theological Institute in Subotica and Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Novi Pazar.
State Secretary Milan Brdar said that coordination with Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science is important and noted theology needs to be considered as science.
