The following projects will be co-financed by the City of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia: Belgrade Film Festival FEST, Belgrade International Theatre Festival BITEF, Festival of Documentary and Short Film, Belgrade Summer Festival BELEF, Belgrade Music Festival BEMUS, October Salon, International Music Youth Competition, Joy of Europe, Sofest Film Festival and Belgrade Jazz Festival.
All events are of international character and this is the first time that an official document was signed between the City and the state on cooperation and co-financing, as the cooperation until now was based on annual programmes.
These events will be financed with RSD 187 million, RSD 49.2 million will be allocated from the state budget.
Brajovic said that Belgrade being a European capital is a representation of Serbian culture.
This does not mean that decentralisation plans in culture are abandonned, he said and noted that all important events and actions across Serbia, including Kosovo, will be supported.
Brajovic said that he is verz pleased with the construction of a theatre in Kosovska Mitrovica.
Alimpic said that the protocol is important not only for Belgrade but for the whole of Serbia.
Assistant Mayor Gorica Mojovic said that the agreement on co-financing was reached for the events with long tradition and importance for culture of the city and Serbia.
She added that there were problems in the previous 20 years regarding the financing, which is finally solved through this protocol.
