Minister of Religion visits Sremska Mitrovica

Serbian Minister of Religion Radomir Naumov visited today Sremska Mitrovica and during his visit presented the ministry’s plan of activities for the Diocese of Srem for 2008.
The ministry's plan provides for the implementation of construction projects and offering of assistance to clergy in less developed areas.
Naumov visited a church in the village of Lacarak, in which the Ministry invested almost RSD 6 million for reconstruction of the interior, and the church in Salas Nocajski which is 200 years old, to which the Ministry of Religion offered financial assistance for construction and reconstruction.
In these churches, the minister talked with church officials, and then visited the Institute for the protection of cultural monuments and announced that new investments will be made to protect cultural goods of great importance.
