Milosavljevic said in the Jevremovac botanical garden that the government is readying to support all farmers living in enclaves as well as in the north of the province.
He added that the government is drafting a model under which all agriculture products from Kosovo-Metohija would be bought up.
He also said that the Ministry helped to organise the international horticultural fair “Hortikultura 2008” in order to support associations’ of small producers enabling them to break through onto the local and regional markets.
Milosavljevic recalled that apple growers formed an association last year and jointly exported their products to Russia. He expressed hope that more associations of this type will be formed at this year’s fair.
With the financial backing of the Ministry, 30 domestic producers’ associations, farmers’ cooperatives and institutes will be presented at the fair in order to show good examples of producers working successfully with new technologies, the Minister said.
The 13th international horticultural fair “Hortikultura 2008” and the 11th international exhibition of medical plants and honey products “Darovi Prirode” (Gifts of Nature) are being organised with the support of the Ministry from February 28 to March 2 at the Belgrade fairgrounds, halls 4 and 2-b.
Nearly 140 domestic and foreign exhibitors representing the areas of gardening, flower planting, park and forest management as well as medical and honey products are expected to attend the fairs.
