German film director Volker Schlondorff opened last evening at the Sava Centre the 36th international film festival FEST and stressed on the occasion that the public will have the opportunity to see the best European, American and Asian films.
During the upcoming days, some of these films will certainly win a few Oscar awards. I am happy and grateful to the FEST for keeping the medium of film alive since at the moment the choice is not very big, said Schlondorff and added that he feels greatly honoured that his film was chosen to open the FEST.
The public was greeted by Serbian Minister of Culture Vojislav Brajovic who said that he wants the guests and the public to have a good time at the festival in which everyone takes great pride.
More than 70 films will be shown at the FEST until March 2.
