On behalf of the Russians, the event will be opened by Russian Minister of Culture
Aleksandar Sokolov.
Serbian Minister of Culture Vojislav Brajovic met on February 12 with president of the International fund of unity of Orthodox peoples, based in Moscow, Valery Alexeyev.
Alexeyev conveyed to Brajovic personal regards from Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexey II, who is president of the Fund's council, as well as regards from Russian Minister of Culture Sokolov.
The idea is to perform the concert of spiritual music "Voices of Orthodox Russia" in several Serbian towns during the month of July this year. This programme will include three of Moscow’s top choirs and numerous distinguished soloists.
This programme was performed with great success in Greece, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain (in London's Saint Peter's Cathedral) and France.
It is planned that the opening of this event in Belgrade will be attended by the Russian Minister of Culture, representatives of the Russian and Serbian Orthodox churches, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Duma, the City of Moscow, the Embassy of Russia to Serbia, and distinguished Russian artists.
All concerts will be open air and free of charge.
