Jeremic said that he will certainly be present in Brussels on January 28 to participate in the political dialogue between Serbia and the EU Ministerial Troika, where European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn and EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Javier Solana will also be present.
He said that he expects that it will be confirmed there that the doors of the EU are open to Serbia. He pointed out that France strongly believes that welcoming Serbia into the EU is in the best interest of peace in the Balkans and all efforts should be made to facilitate the signing of the SAA on January 28.
Since it is known that the Netherlands are opposed due to incomplete cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, it has been announced that Paris and The Hague will discuss this issue, said the Minister.
Jeremic said that during his recent meetings with foreign ministers of Greece, Romania, France and Russia, as well as in telephone talks with several other foreign ministers of EU countries, he conveyed the message that an EU mission may be sent to Kosovo-Metohija only with the approval of the Security Council.
The Minister said that dialogue continues within the EU about finding a legal basis for sending a mission.
