The Protocol envisages a salary increase in local self-government of 20% to 54%, which implies that salaries will be between RSD 19,000 and RDS 34,000, instead of the current RSD 12,000-24,000.
Potezica told a press conference at the Serbian government that the Protocol will come into force at once and that salaries will increase already with the February pay cheque.
The union demanded improvement of the material position of employees in local self-government in Serbia, and that has now been achieved, said Potezica.
We agreed with government representatives to sign special collective contracts for local self-government and state organs by February 15 and thus improve the material position of employees, he said.
Markovic stressed that the Ministry’s aim is to solve the issue of increased number of employees in this sector and added that the government will keep trying to create a new sustainable and improved system in the upcoming years.
