At the museum, Paskaljevic said that this screening is dedicated to actor Danilo Stojkovic and added that unfortunately not much has changed since the time when “Beach Guard in Wintertime” was made in Serbia because the young are still leaving the country in search for jobs.
The retrospective of films by the renowned Belgrade film director, who recently received the French medal for arts and literature, was aided by the Serbian Ministry of Culture, Belgrade City Municipality and the Yugoslav Film Archive.
Until January 31, the following films will be screened at the New York Museum of Modern Art: "Mister Hrstka", " Beach Guard in Wintertime” ", "Midwinter Night's Dream ", "The Legend of Lapot ", "These Earthly Days Go Rolling By ", "The Dog who Loved Trains", "The Powder Keg", "Special Treatment", "Guardian Angel ", "How Harry Became a Tree" "The Illusive Summer of '68 ", "Someone Else's America", "Tango Argentino", "The Optimists" and "Time of Miracles".
