Coach of the Serbian national football team Javier Clemente was sacked on Thursday over his failure to lead the national team to the Euro 2008 finals.

The Spaniard took charge of Serbia in July 2006 and was under contract until the end of December this year.
His successor will be named on 24th January 2008.
Serbia finished third behind Poland and Portugal in their Euro 2008 qualifying Group 1, with six wins, six draws and two losses.
