Speaking at the opening of a roundtable on the place of Serbia’s spiritual heritage in Kosovo-Metohija in European culture, which was organised by the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija, Naumov voiced hope that Serbian cultural heritage, which is also European, will be safe regardless of results of negotiations regarding the southern Serbian province.
He said that this gathering is an opportunity to once more draw attention to the richness and importance of Serbian spiritual heritage in Kosovo-Metohija.
Serbian Assistant Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Branislava Alendar said that the Serbian cultural heritage in the province is a “stone in the mosaic” of world and European spirituality. She pointed to the fact that it is necessary to explain the importance of preserving this heritage to international and European organisations.
Alendar also stressed that it is necessary that all expert institutions participate more in safeguarding Serbian cultural heritage.
A film Guardians of Silence was screened at the gathering which shows the hard life of monks at the Decani Monastery in Kosovo-Metohija.
