Speaking at a press conference, Samardzic-Markovic called upon young people to participate in roundtable discussions in their municipalities in order to take an active part in drafting the national youth strategy, and define the state policy which will deal with questions important to them.
That is the only way to create a Serbia where young people want to stay and build their future, she said.
She said that the first draft of the national youth strategy will be finished on December 15 and groups have already been formed for dealing with issues of security, health, education, employment, youth social welfare, recreational activities, environmental protection and sustainable development.
Samardzic-Markovic said that the 2008 budget bill envisages RSD 200 million for drafting a youth policy, which is an increase of RSD 50 million, compared to this year.
