Darko Babic and Vesna Peric
SIEPA Director Vesna Peric said at a press conference held in the Serbian government that this agreement will help raise services to a higher level, which will significantly improve exports.
She voiced hope that this cooperation will be continued and called on other successful companies that do business in Serbia to follow this example of partnership between the public and private sector and contribute to better placement of Serbian goods on foreign markets.
A partnership relation between SIEPA and DHL entails long-term cooperation on export promotion, as part of which two events are planned until the end of the year.
Peric and Director-General of DHL Darko Babic said that in cooperation with business magazine Pregled, a panel discussion on encouraging exports of small and medium-sized enterprises will be held on November 26, at which Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), shipping, logistics and competitiveness will be discussed.
Also, SIEPA awards for exporters of the year that will be given on December 20 will be financed by DHL, in the total amount of €30,000 in services.
SIEPA is again organising a competition for exporter of the year and is introducing three new categories for best exporter among small and medium-sized enterprises, for conquering new markets and for best export product.
DHL will sponsor awards for each category with €10,000 and the competition is open by December 10.
Babic emphasised the importance of SMEs for further economic development of Serbia, noting that they are the future of national economy.
Peric said that SIEPA supported exporters this year with RSD 65 million and that 106 out of 221 requests were positively resolved.
DHL is operating worldwide for 38 years whereas it is present in Serbia for 24 years. Since 2003, it is owned by Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN).
