No pensions for those who refuse to pay contributions

Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Affairs Slobodan Lalovic said today that Serbia’s attitude to pensioners of Albanian ethnicity in Kosovo-Metohija is not discriminatory.

Lalovic said in an interview for Zvecan-based Most television that pensions in Serbia are paid off from current revenues, reminding that Kosovo Albanians have not paid their pension and disability insurance over the past five years, so there are no legal grounds for granting them pensions.
If and when they start paying the contributions in the Serbian pension and disability insurance fund, we will momentarily continue with pension payments, Lalovic said, asking how come Kosovo Albanians can expect pensions if they do not meet their obligation to the state.
Lalovic thus answered the question posed by Kosovo Ombudsman Marek Nowicki regarding the payment of pensions to Kosovo Albanians.
