The committee says that in the past year only nine films fulfilled the necessary condition of commercial screening, whereas the remaining 12 were only screened at domestic and foreign festivals.
“The Trap” had a successful premier at the Berlin festival, after which it took part in a number of domestic and foreign film festivals. It was made by "Bas Celik" (Belgrade), "Mediopolis GMBH" (Leipzig) and "Uj Budapest Filmstudio" (Budapest) according to the scenario by Melina Pota-Koljevic and directed by Srdan Golubovic.
In early 2008, the American Film Academy will announce which films from non-English speaking countries have been short listed for the Oscar award and the ceremony will take place in late February.
